Eastgate Hideaway is located right on the coast in stunning Salthouse and only a hop, skip and a jump away from the salt marsh, beach and coastal path which makes this pretty village so perfect. Ideal for a cosy stay away any time of year, this stylishly furnished one bed couples retreat, has everything you could need for a short break or longer stay.
Simply and stylishly furnished, this semi-detached annexe which adjoins Eastgate Cottage is a perfect bolthole for couples who want to spend time away, walking, cycling or exploring. With a pub, fish restaurant and shop in the village you don't have to go far either to dine out.
This small but perfectly-formed hideaway has everything you could need. Within the open plan layout you will find a shaker-style kitchenette, filled with everything you would need to cook whilst away on holiday; a tall dining table with stools, a comfortable two-seater sofa, television and a king-sized bed, plus space to hang clothes. Off the main room is a lovely en-suite shower room and there is also access to a utility room with washing machine which is shared with neighbouring Eastgate Cottage.
The private south-facing terraced garden is located at the front of the property and is accessed via the french doors. Fully-enclosed with a patio area it also has a barbecue and table and chairs making it an ideal place to relax and unwind in the sunshine.
With so many walks (head east to Cley-next-the-Sea and right to Kelling and Weybourne along the beach or coastal path), you may not need to get the car out once you've parked up, given you also have a wonderful village pub, The Dun Cow, literally across the green, serving fabulous food and ales; Cookies which serves the freshest fish; and there is also a well-stocked village store. The beach is shingle and sublime during the summer, when you can pack a picnic (Picnic Fayre in the neighbouring village of Cley has everything you need) and settle yourself down and enjoy the view. In winter it is equally captivating watching the migrating birds and waders.
The NWT reserve at Cley-next-the-Sea is within an easy walk, so make sure you visit during your stay. On cooler days, take advantage of the wonderful views afforded from their cafe upstairs. Bring your bikes and cycle the narrow lanes that make Norfolk such a special place, or enjoy a day trip to Holkham or maybe to one of two nearby National Trust properties which have wonderful parklands too; Felbrigg and Blickling.
