It's also a great base for running fans as the Snowdonia Marathon takes place close by, as does the Snowdon Race (or Ras yR Wyddfa). For those wanting a more sedate break, the lovely garden and terrace are perfect for a relaxing sundowner after a happy day exploring, or a contented day relaxing with a cuppa and the views! If you want to explore North Wales, Frondeg is a great holiday cottage to base yourselves. Being a short drive from the popular University town of Bangor, it is the ideal base for visiting the many attractions of North Wales, including the famous Zip Wire in Bethesda. The Snowdonia National Park, Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula are all on your doorstep. Llanberis and Caernarfon, with their many and varied attractions, great walks and cycle routes, as well as fab places to eat and drink are within a 15-minute drive or less!

Frondeg is a holiday bungalow close to the university town of Bangor that will all generations looking to holiday in North Wales. Warm and welcoming inside with a pretty and well-tended garden surrounding it, you’re sure to have a relaxing break here. There is so much to see, do and experience close by, too! The main living space is open plan to include the kitchen, sitting and dining areas. The kitchen offers all you need - an electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and toaster. There’s even a TV and a breakfast bar. The utility room is where you’ll find a washing machine and tumble dryer. There’s a small seating area that has chairs set around the wood burning stove which makes this a cosy nook, even in the winter months. There’s also a dining table and chairs for four people. The views across the Snowdonia countryside are just lovely from the table! There are two bedrooms, one with king sized bed and the other being a twin bedroom with two single beds. They can be made up as a king size bed by prior request. The beds will be made made up as advertised, if you would like a different bed configuration please contact Menai Holidays 7 days before your arrival. There is a separate sitting room with a leather sofa and chairs around an electric flame-effect fire, which adds cosiness. There’s a TV and Amazon Firestick for entertainment. There are patio doors that lead to the terrace, too. There is even an additional small conservatory which is a warm space, especially in the summer, and has stunning views. Frondeg has a double shower, loo and wash hand basin. At the front of the bungalow is a large terraced or patio area with garden furniture. There is also a paddock which you’re able to access which is great for ball games or exercising your dog. Yes, Frondeg is a dog friendly holiday cottage! The back garden has a lawn, shrubs and more seating options. There is also parking for two cars on the drive. So much of the North Wales holiday experience is possible from Frondeg. You’re not far from the A55, making it ideal for those heading from the North West of England to North Wales. Walks, castles, gardens, attractions and a myriad of activities are all possible without having to venture too far. You can explore the best that Anglesey, Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula have to offer from here. It’s also ideal for those looking to stay close to Bangor University. This is a brilliant holiday bungalow that’s suitable for all generations as it’s all on one level.

The ascent can be made either by the Snowdonia Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Just 7 miles from Llanberis, on the coast, is Caernarfon with its magnificent Castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd. With Anglesey and the entire North Wales coastline within easy reach, Rhiwlas is an excellent holiday location.
