Situated in the heart of the market town of Keswick, just a minutes' walk from the market square, Baystones is a fully refurbished and modernised apartment set over three floors above the Lakelovers office. The owners have worked hard to give this property a real home from home feel, retained much of the property's character whilst bring it bang up to date with quality furnishings, smart bathrooms and a contemporary kitchen. Cafes, bars and restaurants abound along with a great range of shops in this popular Lakeland Town and the award winning twice weekly market is a popular draw. For those who want to get out and about enjoy a cruise on Derwentwater, the 'Queen of the English Lakes', mountain biking in the nearby Whinlatter Forest or take in the stunning views from Cat Bells and High Spy! If you are looking for a smart, centrally located cottage in one of the Lake District's popular market towns with easy access to all the local amenities and offering a great base from which to explore the Lake District, Baystones offers great quality in a great location. == Accommodation in detail The property is approached down a lane to the rear of local shops in the centre of Keswick. The out doors steps lead to the front door which opens onto a landing with a cloak room with WC and ample coat hanging and boot storage. A few steps lead to the open plan lounge/kitchen with views across the roof tops to Skiddaw and Walla Crag, leather sofas, an extending dining table in the bay window and large flat screen TV. Thee open plan kitchen /lounge it the perfect social area of the apartment stocked up with all the kitchen inventory you would ever need. On the next floor there is a spacious king size bedroom with en suite shower room and a very large family bathroom with feature free standing bath and walk in shower. On the top floor there are two further bedrooms. A second specious kingsize bedroom and a lovely twin room. The owners welcome one well behaved dog but due to the town centre location this property does not have its own garden but the popular Fitz Park is located just one minutes' walk away.i One Parking Pass for 1 car. Location Keswick is one of the Lake District's most popular destinations. This friendly town hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted 'Best Outdoor Market' in the Great British Market Awards. The village also offers a fantastic array of shops offering everything from craft bakeries and local produce, antiques, crafts and much, much more. If you are looking for somewhere to eat and drink, a week just won't be long enough to sample the great range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars! For a great evening out why not visit the 100 year old Alhambra offering first class cinema entertainment in traditional surroundings or enjoy an evening at 'the most beautiful and friendly theatre in Britain', the 400 seat Theatre By The Lake on the shores of Derwentwater. Enjoy a cruise on Derwentwater, walk onto the fells; Cat Bells, Skiddaw, Coledale Horeshoe and Blencathra are all nearby, head underground at Honister Slate Mines, enjoy mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest. For day trips throughout the Lake District, Ullswater is a short drive away offering lake cruises, great walking and the beautiful Aira Force Waterfall, Buttermere and Crummock Water offer sublime scenery. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
