Settled in the quaint village of Castleton in the heart of the North York Moors, is this delightful stone cottage, 6 Church Street. Perfect for a group of friends seeking a cycling trip, or a family who adore the outdoors, this homely setting makes a wonderful retreat to return to after a day of adventures in North Yorkshire. Located in the centre of the village, you can stroll in from a trip to the shops and be welcomed back into the handy boot room, hang up your coat and take off your boots here before stepping into the kitchen/diner. This spacious and open room presents a lovely space, pop the kettle on and make a round of tea before sitting at the dining table and planning the coming days' activities and events. Enjoy cooking up a feast in the kitchen, well-equipped with a host of appliances including a gas range cooker and hob, perfect for some home-cooking. Find a snug spot in the living room, with an electric stove-effect fire adding to the cottage style, you can choose from either the two or three seat sofas, offering a plush spot to relax on when watching a film together on the TV. Up a further flight of stairs, discover the second-floor single bedroom, with beautiful skylights in the sloping ceilings, it's a tranquil space to wake up in. Ramblers can delight in a challenging but worthy walk up Beacon Hill, once serving as a radar station in World War II, and experience stunning views all around with the sea to the north and the moors to the south, before continuing to the Scaling Reservoir, for beautiful waterside scenery. You can explore some of the 37-mile route that runs along the River Esk, one of the most beautiful valleys in England, head from Castleton up to Danby Dale, and into Westerdale for a lovely outing. Cycling is popular in this area too, with the Esk Valley Cycleway offering a safe and scenic ride down to Whitby and the coast. Discover the wonderful sands of Whitby Beach and the charming attractions all around, including Captain Cook Memorial Museum, the 199 Steps leading up to Whitby Abbey, the Whalebone Arch and Whitby Museum.
