Dating back to the late 1700's , once a weavers cottage and immersed in local history, the apartment had now been brought into the 21st Century with all mod cons and boasting a floodlit glass floor panel giving direct views down into the original cellar. The addition of a 55" surround sound TV and Sonos music system enhance the lovingly created modern interior and high specification of the apartment. Step out of the front door and in a few minutes walk you are into the centre of the historical market town of Barnard Castle, its' many antique shops, high street, shops, pubs and restaurants are but a few minutes walk. Alternatively, follow the banks of the River Tees to the left or right and you will have joined the 'Teesdale Way', enjoying spectacular scenery in either direction. Don't forget 'The Bowes Museum', a jewel in Barnard Castle's crown and home to the iconic Silver Swan. The market town of Barnard Castle is situated in the countryside of Teesdale in County Durham. It stands on the site of an ancient Roman fort which crosses the river. The medieval ruins of the castle still tower over the river and are well worth a visit as is the nearby Bowes Museum. Walking country is right on the doorstep of this market town, with woodland walks, and cycle routes in the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines with Teesdale Ways the River Tees and waterfalls at High Force are all within easy reach.
