This delightful holiday home "Corner Bungalow" is tucked away in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of the charming market town of Driffield, East Yorkshire. It offers the perfect base for families, couples or friends looking to explore this area which has a wealth of beautiful unspoilt countryside, coastlines, historical sites and other local attractions. The property boasts its own drive, with ample space for two cars. Discover the entrance at the side of the property and enter the hallway where there is storage area for outdoor gear away from the main living area. The property has gas central heating and radiators in all rooms to keep you warm and cooler days. Locate the kitchen, fitted with a gas hob, electric cooker, fridge with small freezer compartment, dishwasher and a good range of other kitchen equipment and utensils. There is also a family sized table and chairs at the end of the kitchen where you can enjoy your meals in comfort and catch up on your day. Unwind in the main living room, a spacious area for you to relax, with a three seater settee and two chairs which will accommodate your party comfortably. There is a flat screen 38" TV, boasting Broadband, Freeview and a range of DVDs to keep you entertained on your stay. For more entertainment, find a supply of board games available to cater for all ages. There is a gas fire in the living room for additional heating whilst you get snug on the plush sofa. The cottage hosts two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a full sized double bed, and fitted furniture and the twin room has two full sized singles with plenty of storage space for storing and hanging clothes. For a refreshing rinse, locate the bathroom, with a spacious walk in family shower and offering an addition of a folding seat and hand rail if needed, WC, and hand basin. There is access to a well kept private enclosed spacious garden at the rear of the property where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings to eat or enjoy a drink, there is a garden table with four chairs and a comfortable bench to catch the last of the evening sun. The town centre of Driffield is just a short drive from the accommodation by car or a leisurely walk. It has a range of shops on the Main street, Tesco, Lidl and quality local butchers and bakers as you would imagine from a market town. With a variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes that you can visit during your stay all within easy walking distance from the property. Alternatively there are a wide range of take-away outlets, Indian, Italian, Chinese, Mexican and especially the local Fish & Chips. The town still has a weekly market every Thursday where the main street is closed off to traffic. There is also a Railway station in the town and the trains run between Scarborough and Sheffield, stopping at Bridlington, Driffield, Beverley, Hull, Sheffield. Driffield has moved with the times, with many individual shop's. It still has businesses that have been in the area for generations, like Bradshaw's Flour mill, they have a garden centre and café where you can purchase Flour directly from the Mill. You can even buy corn to feed the swans and ducks on the river that flows past the mill, great for children. The Corner Bungalow is a short drive from the main road, from here you can go to the seaside resort of Bridlington (13 miles) you can take a stroll along the front, paddle on the beach, or buy a local crab. Just a couple of miles up the coast is Sewerby Hall & Gardens, where they have a small zoo. Flamborough Head is about 3 miles from Sewerby, there has been a Lighthouse here since 1669. RSPB Bempton Cliffs is close by and between March & October, depending on the season you may see a variety of seabirds like Gannets, Guillemots and Puffins. The seaside town of Scarborough is about 22 miles, there is the Sea life centre, Water Park, Peasholm Park and plenty of spacious beaches, especially favoured by surfers. You can visit the City of Hull by car (22 miles) or take the train from the station in the Driffield town centre. It has a number of theatres and is the home of the Hull Maritime Museum that explores the seafaring heritage of the city, as well as a museum dedicated to the work of William Wilberforce in his plight against slavery. The historic market town of Beverley is 13 miles away by car or you can take the train. It is home to Beverley Minster, the racecourse and some landmark buildings in the town centre, boasting many unique bars and eateries. The City of York is 26 miles away, take a walk around the city walls, stroll around the Shambles in the old town and then indulge in Afternoon Tea or a Fat Rascals at the world famous Bettys Tea Rooms. There are a variety of museums you can visit, York Minster, the National Railway Museum, York Castle Museum, or go back to Viking times at the Yorvik Viking Centre. Call in to the York Maze on the outskirts you could have a fun filled day at the maze, something for everyone! There are plenty of interesting places to visit without having to travel too far, Sledmere House and grounds, Sledmere Monument, Wagoners Memorial, Burton Agnes Hall, the monolith at Rudston, Eden Camp or Flamingo Land near Malton. Spend a day exploring the North Yorkshire moors or take a trip on the restored steam engine line. The area historically was quite rural and the Yorkshire Wolds are covered with Green Lanes that linked villages and were used in the past by farmers to take their stock to market in Driffield. These lanes are now used for recreation, walking, cycling, and running and more information can be found by checking out the newly mapped 'Wold Rangers' trail.
