Upon entering the cottage, be presented by a stylish kitchen, complemented with rustic slate floors, 18th century beams, glossy cherry cabinets and vintage aspects, where a Range cooker takes centre stage before the contemporary appliances required to cater for yourselves for the duration of your family holiday. Gather your loved ones at the dining table, perfect for planning the next day’s adventure or opening up something chilled to celebrate a wonderful break to Yorkshire. Beyond here is the inviting sitting room, where during the winter months the woodburning stove is most welcomed as you curl up and tune into the 42" TV, with FreeSat or DVD player, and look out to the pretty Victorian church. Alternatively, head up to the first-floor snug/games room which provides an additional seating area, oak features, a marvellous glass bannister and dual aspect windows, ideal if you seek an hour’s peace and quiet for delving into a good book before heading to bed. Cloughton is a small village resting on the outskirts of Scarborough, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Within this pretty village you will find two pubs and is situated close to the 'Cinder Track', a disused 23 mile long railway track which is popular for walking, cycling and horse riding. Other walks includes the Cleveland Way which takes you past ayburn Wyke, a rocky cove with a waterfall and inn.

Location Details

Cloughton is located on the northern edge of the North York Moors National Park, less than five miles north of Scarborough. In addition to its inviting farm shop where you can pick up any basics and two pubs on the main street and two more outlying, the hamlet features an unusual blend of contemporary and traditional developments to deliver a charming ambiance to all of its visitors. Cinder Track, a 23-mile-long old railroad track, is just a few miles away, and it's popular with walkers, cyclists and horseback riders. Nearby is a long-distance trail known as the Cleveland Way, which runs along the clifftops of the Cleveland Peninsula to places like Hayburn Wyke, a picturesque cove with a waterfall and an inn, and Robin Hood's Bay. Many of Scarborough's exquisite houses, parks, and gardens, as well as the mediaeval castle that looms over it, have remained unchanged since Victorian times. In both North Bay and South Bay, you'll find lovely golden sand beaches that are ideal for families with young children. Some of the best attractions for adults include the Stephen Joseph Theatre, the Spa, and the Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music; there are also plenty of activities for children. Golf courses, seaside walks along the Cleveland Way, spectacular cycle paths like the ancient railway to Whitby, beautiful sailing, and championship-quality surfing are all nearby and cater to a wide variety of interests and abilities.
