Resting on the edge of the magnificent Cotswolds AONB lies the charming village of Stratton. Belonging to the parish of Cirencester, the village is located just a short drive from Sapperton to the west, and Barnsley to the east, and is best known for its position on the Ermine Street Roman Road. In the village, visitors will find a SPAR convenience store that sells homely essentials, the pubs of the Drillmans Arms and The Plough Inn, The Garden Restaurant, along with the lush greens of Stratton Park and the neighbouring Cirencester Golf Club. A short drive from Stratton will bring you into Cirencester, a historic town home to a selection of independent pubs, bars, and restaurants including The Golden Cross, Amore Mio, and Malt & Anchor, as well as the must-see sites of the Corinium Museum and the Cirencester Amphitheatre. For a fun day out, head north into the Cotswolds, experiencing nature at its most brilliant with a visit to the Cerney House Gardens and Crickley Hill Country Park, or brushing up on history at Sudeley Castle, Rodmarton Manor, or the Chedworth Roman Villa, a National Trust site.
