Accommodation Details
Three bedrooms: 1 x double with basin, 2 x twin (one with basin). Bathroom with bath, shower, basin and WC. Kitchen with separate dining area. Sitting room with multi-fuel stove.
Horton-in-Ribblesdale 0.5 miles. A stone-built detached period cottage, bordering a farm lane, within the lovely hamlet of Newhouses, leading to the Pennine Way. This charming property exudes old world charm, with many original features including beamed ceilings, flagged floors and original slate shelves in the kitchen. There is a multi-fuel stove in the sitting room, ensuring a warm welcome at any time of the year and coal is provided in the small barn to the left of the cottage. At the rear and sides of the cottage is an attractive garden with an excellent view of one of the Three Peaks, Pen-y-Ghent. The farm lane, which runs past the front door of the cottage, leading to the Pennine Way is mostly used as a path for walkers and the whole area is a paradise for walkers and mountain bikers, with many footpaths and bridleways throughout the surrounding Dales countryside. A wonderful base for an ideal Dales holiday.
Sets within the National Park, the village of Horton-in-ribblesdale is composed of traditional Dales buildings, a lovely Norman church, a village shop and two pubs. The surrounding countryside is an ideal location for fell walking, close to the famous Three Peaks Walk, Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The famous Settle to Carlisle Railway passes through the village and crosses the Ribblehead viaduct - completed in 1870. The nearby market town of Settle is home to a selection of pubs and restaurants whilst the market square features a historic three-storey building with shops on two levels and houses above. The Victoria Hall serves as a cinema on Fridays and Saturdays and offers other activities such as folk nights throughout the year. Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the towns of Skipton and Malham.

Shop 6 miles, pub 10 mins walk. Note: No hen/stag or similar. Note: The lane, which is below the level of the house, is a natural drainage outlet during heavy rain and occasionally fills during stormy weather. Note: Access road to the property is bumpy and uneven, please take care. Note: Access road may not be suitable for very low slung vehicles such as sports cars.
