This attractive, stone, terraced cottage is situated just off the High Street in the popular village of Hinderwell, in the North York Moors National Park. Well suited for families wanting to enjoy the dramatic, heritage east coast, this Hinderwell cottage is close to the bustling seaside town of Whitby and the elegant, Victorian spa resort of Saltburn, both just a few minutes' drive. Traditionally furnished and decorated, this cottage in Hinderwell offers a cosy and comfortable sitting room and a colourful kitchen with a small boot room. Upstairs in this Hindwell cottage, is a spacious double bedroom and on the second floor, a twin room with sloping ceilings, exposed timbers and views over distant hills. Outside, this Hinderwell cottage benefits from a pretty front garden, accessed via a communal path. This is a pleasant spot in which to sit and relax in or perhaps enjoy alfresco dining. The village itself offers excellent amenities, with several pubs, local shops and a bistro, whilst the beach is just a mile away. Explore the quaint coastal villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay with their narrow alleyways and cottages tumbling towards the sea, or take a bracing cliff top walk on the Cleveland Way long distance footpath. With the beautiful moors to explore and the numerous seaside delights of Whitby to enjoy, this Hinderwell cottage has something for everyone.

Hinderwell was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Hildrewell, a derivation of Hilda's Well, named for the Abbess of Whitby who was travelling through the parish in a drought and was asked to intercede. Her prayers were answered when a spring appeared near the sight of the present Parish Church, and this spring has continued to flow from the hillside to this day. The village is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful countryside, and walks, cycle ways, gliding, horse riding and fishing are all well catered for in the area. Whitby is seven miles away and the town has a rich and varied heritage waiting to be discovered. This is a fabulous holiday base.
