Offering first class accommodation ideal for a romantic retreat, this charming Pennington cottage has an open plan living area with woodburner, and a lovely galleried bedroom with exposed beams and Velux windows. Outside, guests can relax in the small front garden and patio, ideal after a day spent enjoying the area. The Cumbrian Way and plenty of footpaths run close by, making this an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. Ulverston is within easy reach, as are the Furness coast and beautiful Coniston. The start of the Haematite and Cumbrian Way footpaths can be found here, as well as the twin pubs at Great Urswick Tarn, well known in the local area for their great food and fine ales. The market town of Ulverston, also known as the "festival town" because of its lively year round events, is Pennington's nearest neighbour. Ulverston is the birthplace of Stan Laurel, and is the proud home of the one and only Laurel and Hardy museum. The town has many good shops, pubs and restaurants, a leisure centre and a cinema. The soft, sandy beaches and excellent birdwatching of the Furness Coast, and all the attractions of the National Park are easy to get to from here. There is fun for all the family at the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Muncaster Castle, and the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
