Accommodation Details
Two ground floor bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Ground floor shower room with shower, basin and WC. First floor open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with sofa bed (for use by a child only), electric stove and balcony. Ground floor conservatory with TV. Starting from 2023, the owner is happy for guests to bring their horses to the property, Facilities such as stables, a riding school and hacking facilities will be provided. Dolgellau 2 miles. A superbly renovated, detached stone-built barn conversion, oozing a wealth of charm and character, is located in a stunning, tranquil countryside, on the owners' 100-acre working sheep farm, two miles from the market town of Dolgellau. Dating back 300 years and having its own private access along a short country track, this cottage is perfect for couples, friends and families, along with walkers and nature lovers. Carved out of a very old farm building, the cottage has an endearing, quirky charm, offering upside down accommodation renovated to a very high standard. It has even won an award through the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show for the best barn conversion in Gwynedd in 2016. This delightful cottage is beautifully furnished and well-equipped, and the welcoming ambience will not disappoint. Two bedrooms on the ground floor are stylish in design, each enjoying a large floor-to-ceiling picture window, drawing you immediately to the wonderful countryside views. The shower room is modern and well-appointed, and the conservatory is a welcome addition to this stunning property, with oak doors and oak wood flooring throughout. There is an open turned handcrafted oak staircase leading up to the open plan living accommodation with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable sitting area with sofa bed, lending sleeping flexibility for a child. A patio door leads out to the glass balcony, where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet of the area, whilst relaxing with a glass of your favourite tipple, reflecting on the day and watching the sun set. The upstairs boasts roughly hewn beams throughout, where the age of the building is evident and it is beautifully complimented by the more modern day comforts. Outside on the patio you can enjoy a morning coffee, or even dine alfresco in the evening while you enjoy the vista and sunsets from the front, relaxing after walking up Cader Idris and admiring the stars long into the night. There are some wonderful walks from the doorstep, including a walk to Gwernen Lake enjoying the stunning scenery on the way. A number of activities can be enjoyed close by, including the largest mountain bike trail centre in Wales, Coed y Brenin, just six miles away. Starting from the town is the Mawddach Trail, from where walking and cycling take in spectacular coastal and mountain scenery. Further afield, enjoy the stunning architectural gem of Portmeirion, take a historical trip to Harlech Castle, or enjoy the industrial heritage of the Blaenau Ffestiniog slate works and steam railway. You are also close to Zip World Titan or the Bounce Below experience and Corris, with its craft centre, is one of the many areas worth visiting. Alternatively, spend your days relaxing with the sand between your toes on the lovely beaches at Barmouth and Fairbourne. This charming cottage provides an ideal getaway for discovering the mystical mountains of North Wales all year round.
This small, beautiful market town is located in the heart of southern Snowdonia, between the imposing Cader Idris mountain range and the sea. ItÂ’s a superb base for a holiday - perfect for combining the many outdoor pursuits on offer in Snowdonia with relaxing days out on the soft sandy beaches of Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey. The town itself offers a good selection of shops, five pubs and a wine bar, along with a number of excellent restaurants, cafes and two bakeries, that produce fresh bread and cakes each day. Dolgellau is home to over 200 listed buildings, allegedly the highest concentration in the whole of Wales, and the town is also a designated 'cycle break centre' boasting a range of dedicated cycle routes all around the area.

"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
