Tyn Llwyn is a Grade II listed former farmhouse, set high up in an isolated location, on the foothills of Y Garn mountain, two miles from the village of Llanelltyd, in southern Snowdonia. It sleeps seven people in four bedrooms, two doubles, a single and a king-size double with an en-suite bathroom. There is also a family shower room, a cloakroom, a kitchen with a dining area, a utility and two sitting rooms, both with woodburning stoves. Outside there is an enclosed garden with a patio, a BBQ and furniture, as well as bike storage and ample off road parking. As the property is surrounded by open farming countryside, there are walks from the door, whilst the many attractions of southern Snowdonia are just waiting to be explored. Tyn Llwyn is a great base for discovering rural North Wales or for a break away in complete privacy.

A delightful stone-built, Grade II listed former farmhouse, set high up in a peaceful, isolated location, on the foothills of Y Garn Mountain yet only two miles from the village of Llanelltyd, in Southern Snowdonia. Oozing character and coming complete with lots of original features, Tyn Llywn offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for larger families or groups of friends who are in need of a relaxing holiday in an away-from-it-all location. Boasting spectacular views of the Cader Idris Mountain, as soon as you arrive at this property you will be in awe of the tranquillity and outstanding beauty that this holiday home has to offer. When you approach the entrance to this characterful property, you’ll notice the adjacent stone barn, where you can store your bikes. As you enter, you’ll come straight into the first of two sitting rooms, with flag stone floors and original oak wood beams, comfy seating for five and an inviting woodburning stove, set in a gorgeous stone fireplace - perfect for those chillier nights. To your left, a door will lead you to the second sitting room, with a superb grandfather clock, additional seating for five guests, a further woodburning stove and a TV to cuddle up in front of with your favourite DVD – a great hideaway for the children whilst the adults swap stories next door. Straight ahead of you to the left of the stairs are two steps leading to the fully-fitted kitchen with dining area, offering seating for eight, a TV and a lovely AGA – an inviting focal point for a family meal to remember. To the right there’s a handy utility room, with a cloakroom adjacent to it. Ascending the original wooden stairs to the first floor, to your left is a spacious double bedroom, straight in front of you is the single room and to your right a further double bedroom - mind your head here as there are beautifully-restored original low beams. There’s also a family shower room and along the hall, another door with low beams will lead you into the master bedroom with Velux windows, a king-size double bed with an en-suite bathroom, complete with a period roll-top bath. The grounds at this property are fully enclosed with ample space for parking, a barbecue and furniture to enjoy a drink whilst watching the sunset, and you are also surrounded by open farming countryside, with walks galore from the doorstep. Just seven miles to the north you have Coed Y Brenin mountain bike trail centre, one of the most revered rides throughout Europe. There are also the outstanding sand dunes of Barmouth just 10 miles away to the west, as well as the idyllic market town of Dolgellau only four miles to the south, with a fantastic range of restaurants and historic buildings to explore. This splendid property is a great base for discovering Southern Snowdonia or for a break away in complete privacy.

Set at the starting point of the sweeping Mawddach Estuary and caught between Snowdonia’s sea and mountain scenery, the small, peaceful village of Llanelltyd rests amongst climbing green hills, offering a perfectly peaceful holiday location for touring this vibrant area. The crumbling Cymer Abbey, a 12th century romantic ruin, and St Illtyd’s Church, thought to be one of the oldest in Wales, stand testament to the village’s past.
