The Eaves is a second floor apartment in the village of Sandgate near Folkestone in Kent. The apartment sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are made up of two double bedrooms. There is also a bathroom, a kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a woodburner. Outside there is limited roadside parking on a first come, first served basis and the beach is across the road. The Eaves is a fantastic beachfront apartment with stunning views for a family or group of friends to enjoy a memorable holiday. Note: No children under 14 years old.

Set on the sea front in the centre of the historic town of Sandgate is The Eaves, a superb second floor apartment which was featured in the Sunday Mirror’s Top 10 Sea View Staycation Cottages. With the beach right on your doorstep and all amenities only a few minutes’ walk, this lovely holiday home is set in an early Victorian house which was built for retired gentlemen and is perfect for couples looking to stay somewhere full of charm and character. Beautifully restored and updated by the owners with care and attention to detail, this stylish apartment runs right across the top floor which gives all of its rooms uninterrupted and fantastic sea views. The spacious sitting room has quality furnishings and comfortable seating, making it a lovely room to relax in either on colder, blustery days enjoying the warmth of the woodburner with a good book, or on long summer evenings watching the sun set with someone special and a bottle of wine. From the smaller window in this room guests can see the Martello towers which run along the coastline. There are two attractive bedrooms in this lovely apartment, the larger master bedroom is comfortable and stylishly furnished while the cosiness of the smaller double bedroom will have you quickly climbing into bed, quite literally! What can be nicer than settling down to the sound of the waves on the pebbles? The compact bathroom offers the option of either a quick shower or after a busy day exploring this part of Kent, a long hot soak in the bath. Meals can never be rushed in this self-catering holiday apartment as you will find yourselves enjoying the sea views too much. The apartment enjoys views of spectacular sunrises and sunsets across the sea; on a clear day France can be glimpsed at sunrise and the whole bay from Sandgate to Dungeness can be seen at sunset.The property is also easily accessible from central London with a high speed train link bringing you to the local train station of Folkestone West in just over 50 minutes. On sunny days, pack a picnic in the hamper the owner provides, together with the rug and chairs provided and enjoy dining alfresco on the beach. Outside this apartment lies the coastal town of Sandgate, which is sandwiched between Folkestone with its fine restaurants, creative quarter and harbour arm development (including a lighthouse Champaign bar in the summer) and Hythe with its traditional coastal resort charms. All three towns are connected by a wonderful coastal path popular with walkers and cyclists. Not only does Sandgate have a long pebble bay ideal for watersport lovers and beachcombers, but it is full of tea rooms, pubs, antique shops, restaurants, bistros and a micro pub serving a selection of local beers, ciders and wines.After long exciting days, and dreamy evenings in Sandgate, stroll back to the welcome of The Eaves and enjoy a holiday to remember.

In the 1970s the castle was bought, restored, and made into a private residence and is now a Grade l listed building. Quaint shops, tea rooms and a micro pub make the high street an ideal place to wander and browse while on a relaxing holiday, or for those looking for something more energetic, there are a variety of watersports to enjoy. What could be better than a day on the beach with a picnic while watching the ever changing seascape, relaxing with a good book in the warmth of the sun or beachcombing along the shoreline in search of hidden treasure!

Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. There is a residents parking scheme in operation, allowing two hours free parking and is free from 4pm to 10am. There is also free parking along the nearby esplanade which would require a 5-10 minute walk back to the property once parked. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 3 mins walk, pub/restaurant 1 min walk. Beach across road. Note: Narrow opening between basin and bath. Note: One double accessed from one side only. Note: There are sloping ceilings in all rooms. Note: Due to the steep stairs leading to the apartment, this property is not suitable for those with limited mobility. Note: This property does not accept guests under the age of 14.
