There is an excellent range of shops and eateries, in addition to which there are no less than three interesting museums. The city is perhaps best known for its cathedral, an imposing structure the history of which dates back to the 7th century. Just outside the city, (under 4 miles) the atmospheric ruins of Fountains Abbey make for a wonderful day trip, whilst the Yorkshire Dales are just 21 miles away providing a spectacular backdrop for enjoying relaxing walks. A communal staircase leads to the first floor of this converted chapel and to the front door of this duplex apartment. Once inside guests pass through a hallway where the washing machine is kept, which leads on to the stylish open plan living area. This elegant room has a chic contemporary feel to it and has large floor to ceiling windows which flood the room with light. The lounge area is an attractive space which allows guests to enjoy simply spending time together, relaxing on the sofa and chairs and enjoying a film on the TV.
