Two pretty and comfortable bedrooms: 1 super king size bedroom, 1 king size bedroom . 1 shower room and WC (upstairs) with a dual headed shower. Bed rooms and WC located on first floor, with a couple of steps up from the main stairs to both left and right. Well equipped kitchen: oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle, cafetiere, toaster and comfortable dining table for four. Small garden to rear with outside seating area, plus bench seating at the front. Traditional wood burner 1 bag of kindling and logs provided on arrival. No Smoking, including e cigarettes. Wi Fi included. Smart TV, including an Amazon Firestick, and radios. Access for drop off and loading to the front of the cottage and off street parking within easy walking distance. Town centre close by, including independent shops, restaurants, local museums and amenities. Within easy reach of riverside and woodland walks. Free disc parking (two hours) in the town centre, free discs available in the cottage or local shops. Elevated position on the bankside, just across the Green Bridge, with steps to the front door and a wonderful view of the castle. Public transport: the nearest main line station is Darlington with a bus service to Richmond. Bus services from Richmond Market place are available to Swaledale, Leyburn (Wensleydale), Barnard Castle (Teesdale) and Northallerton. Please check schedules for current services. Please note: the cottage and garden are on a bankside and include steps. The cottage is therefore unsuitable for children under 11 or those with reduced mobility.

The spacious kitchen/dining room is well equipped and the dining table seats four people. There are views from the windows towards the castle at the front and onto the garden at the rear. On the first floor, the main bedroom has a super king bed, exposed beams and windows on two sides. The pretty second bedroom has a king size bed. Both rooms have radios and smart TV. A hairdryer, ample wardrobe space, iron and ironing board and clothes rack are available. The small family shower room and WC is upstairs, at the end of the landing. It includes a dual headed shower with a good supply of hot water and complimentary toiletries. All the rooms, except the shower room, have a view over to the castle and the main rooms also have a view of the garden. To the rear of the cottage is a small cottage garden which includes a garden table and chairs, a BBQ for the summer and a happy community of garden birds. You may hear Tawny owls around the cottage in the evenings. At the front of the property there is also a bench from which you can enjoy a view of the castle. Access for drop off and loading is available at the front of the cottage, with off street parking within easy walking distance. Richmond is an historic market town. The town and imposing Norman castle are within easy walking distance and the front of the cottage looks directly across to the castle's south curtain wall. In addition to the castle, which has a great view from the top of the Keep or Great Tower, Richmond has a unique Georgian Theatre Royal, as well as twisting, cobbled lanes, small local museums and a fascinating mix of architecture. The central marketplace hosts a small Saturday market where you can find delicious, high quality local produce, including fresh fish from Whitby, fruits, vegetables and delicious cheese. There are numerous independent shops, including a bookshop, deli and pantry, local family butchers, a greengrocer and other shops selling local produce, plus tea rooms and cafes. The nearby converted railway station, opposite the local swimming pool, is home to a number of amenities, including a small, multi screen cinema, café, micro brewery, handmade chocolate shop, local ice cream parlour, artisan bakery and delicatessen. The Station can be easily reached from the town or by footpath from the cottage. The Victorian indoor market hall, close to the castle and Town Hall, is home to the local Tourist Information desk. The landscape of North Yorkshire is steeped in history, with historic houses and ruined abbeys, whilst its natural features change throughout the seasons; from rare wild flower meadows in the spring to glorious purple heather moors in August and snow capped hills in winter. The region is also noted for its fresh local produce, good food and local character.
