New Galloway, 5 miles away has a good choice of pubs and restaurants and a visitor's centre with a year round arts programme. Castle Douglas, known for its food scene, is 15 miles away. It can be booked with The Nook, which offers two to four more sleeping spaces. Inside, the accommodation is arrange across one floor. The spacious lounge diner has a large sofa, which converts to a bed, TV, a dining table and French doors to the garden. This lovely social space is a great place to spend cosy evenings as well as to relax over breakfast or lunch. The kitchen is compact but kitted out with everything you'll need to cook up tasty meals, including an electric cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave. The washing machine is in a cupboard in the hallway. There is a double bedroom to the back of the house, and a shower room next to the bedroom. Outside, a pretty enclosed garden with a lawn and patio offers fantastic views out over the surrounding countryside. It makes a great place to enjoy breakfast on a sunny morning or an evening drink.
