There are many attractions in the area including Caerlaverock, Threave and Drumlanrig castles, Robert Burns house, numerous golf courses and wildlife reserves. For an active holiday, there are plenty of walking, hiking and cycling routes in the immediate area and the famous Seven Stanes mountain bike trails is within easy reach.
