The house stands close to the town s magnificent Assembly Rooms offering film, theatre and other events. If you are after some outdoor adventure, put on your hiking boots and head out to Mortimer Forest, or on to the Shropshire Hills. It's just a short stroll from your doorstep out of the town into some stunning countryside and local walks. The River Teme is less than half a mile away and offers some lovely riverside walks and a stretch of about half a mile of free fishing. There's much to see in the area such as the National Trust's Berrington Hall and Croft Ambrey Castle, as well as Stokesay Castle, Clun Castle, Wigmore Castle, Acton Scott s historic working farm, Wenlock Priory and the Severn Valley Railway. The town is surrounded by magnificent countryside and a wealth of attractive villages and walking opportunities.
