The shore path at Bassenthwaite runs the length of the west shore and there is an open air theatre at Mirehouse which is worth a visit. The Mountain Festival, which is usually held in May or June, offers three days of world class sports, outdoor activities, talks and films with live music which take place in and around Keswick, which is just 7 miles away. If you are looking for something a little different, why not walk an alpaca or abseil 120ft into a disused quarry. As you enter the property you will find yourself in the lounge which features beams and original stone walls, showing off its character and charm. The lounge has a TV and DVD player, perfect for settling down and watching all your favourite films. You will also find a formal dining area to catch up over breakfast and plan for the day ahead. The well equipped kitchen is just off the lounge and has everything you need to whip up a delicious, hearty meal with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge, freezer and microwave. From the lounge head through into the hallway and you will find two bedrooms: a king size and pretty twin bedroom. There s a large family bathroom which features a shower over the bath and WC.
