Stay close to home and jump on a boat from the Wray Castle jetty to cruise the water and take in the fantastic scenery. If you fancy a day out a little further afield, make the 3.5 mile trip to the cobbled streets of Hawkshead. Here, you can treat yourselves to some goodies from a tearoom or visit the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Continue the Beatrix Potter theme with a trip to the National Trust s Hill Top. Just 5 miles from home, see where the author once lived. Wind your way down the private driveway and arrive at this lovely abode which is attached to a guest house. Step inside the 19th century, first floor apartment and find yourselves in the lounge where you can settle down and get comfortable. Bright bursts of colour are complemented by the natural light from the French doors and the wood burner effect electric fire warms the room. Spend time in front of the TV or pop on a DVD for a family film night. After days in the great outdoors, cook up a storm in the spacious kitchen with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, and dine together at the table. When the day is done, two tranquil bedrooms await. Perfect for families, one room has a double bed and a single, whilst the remaining room has a double bed. Completing the accommodation is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Sit a while on the covered veranda, a lovely spot in which to enjoy a mug of something warm.
