The Bassenthwaite Lake station, a café inside an old train carriage on the former railway line, is only 0.2 miles. In the historic town of Cockermouth (5.5 miles), you can visit the birthplace of the poet William Wordsworth, and the town has a lovely selection of great places to eat and drink too. At the other end of Bassenthwaite Lake, the bustling town of Keswick (8 miles) is home to Derwent Pencil Museum, Puzzling Place and Keswick Adventure Centre. An inviting hallway leads you into this bright and airy house, and through to the tastefully decorated lounge. Featuring a TV, open fire, plenty of seating and a lovely large bay window with beautiful scenery, this is an ideal spot for relaxing in at the end of a great day out.
