Tideswell is well known for its popular Food Festival, which takes place every May. It features a wide variety of food from local suppliers, as well as stalls, cookery demonstrations and entertainment. There are excellent walking routes with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just 4 miles outside the village. Mam Tor and Castleton are both within 11 miles and the popular spa town of Buxton is an 8 mile trip.
