There are many scenic walking and cycling routes that run directly from the property and the village is well serviced with local amenities including three pubs, a post office, a tearoom and several shops. Cerne Abbas was voted Britain's most desirable in 2008 and was described as strikingly beautiful . Various annual events are held around the village, including a classical musical festival and open gardens, which attract many visitors. The multiple award winning Cerne Abbas Brewery is situated just south of the village on the A352 and also hosts many events during the year. The village is ideally situated for touring popular destinations such as Abbotsbury, the county town of Dorchester, Weymouth, and Bridport, which are all within 15 miles. Head slightly further afield to Lyme Regis or Charmouth (20 miles) and you can enjoy hunting for fossils on Charmouth Beach before meandering through the charming streets of bustling Lyme Regis, where there is a good range of independent shops and galleries. The much photographed landmarks of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are also accessible, only 17 away miles by car.
