This traditional and well equipped holiday cottage is conveniently placed so that you can walk to the shops, restaurants and pubs of the bustling market town but also ideally positioned to visit the Jurassic Coast, just minutes away by car. The relaxing sun room/conservatory with central heating has easy access to the back garden where you will find an inviting deck area, perfect for meals and late evening relaxation when the warmer climate allows. There is an optional 4ft 6inch sofa bed on the ground floor with accompanying shower room for anyone in the party who cannot manage stairs or requires a separate bed. (Please request this if needed, when booking).
The famed market town of Bridport with its harbour at West Bay, famous as the setting for the television series Broadchurch, is the perfect base from which to explore Dorset's coast and countryside. Bridport is also home to a lively street market and has an active Arts Centre as well as The Electric Palace, an independent entertainment venue offering music, comedy and theatre. The coastal fishing port of West Bay with its beach and harbour can be reached easily via a footpath along the riverbank. The whole of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, including the lovely seaside town of Lyme Regis is a short drive away. The famed village of Abbotsbury with its swannery is a short drive from Bridport and the very popular Hive Beach Café is a must visit. The 18 mile long Chesil beach, which runs from Portland to West Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is very nearby and offers dramatic scenery. Unsurpassed walking along the South West Coastal Path is on tap.
