Description
Tucked away amongst the beautiful 50 acre grounds of Willhayes Farm, on the edge of the Haldon Hills, is this beautiful semi-detached cottage in the Devon village of Doddiscombsleigh. With fabulous views overlooking the verdant, green pastures of the Teign Valley, this cottage is perfect for an adventurous family looking to get outdoors and explore some of the fantastic activities on offer in the local area. The property is located next to the owners home and is wonderfully presented inside, the entrance halls greets you with a cheery, light open space with seating for you to take the weight off your feet after a long tiring journey. Immediately on your right is the timber floored sitting room uplifted by two luxurious cherry red sofas and a plush circular armchair. The all-white finish and double set of bi-folding doors generate a bright and airy feel. From this room, you can meander through to the king-size double, another very spacious room communicating with the rear exterior space via the patio doors. All four bedrooms benefit en-suite facilities washed over in a white shade, gleaming to perfection. The three other bedrooms; two doubles and a twin, are housed up on the first floor, all completed immaculately with tasteful decor. Enjoy the outdoors from two positions, where you can choose from either the front veranda offering breath-taking views or the rear of the property offering a more secluded situation with a barbecue. Well placed for exploring the city of Exeter, the cottage is perfect for attending an event at The Great Barn or Belevedere Tower, both nearby. This peaceful and rural location offers plenty of opportunity for walking and cycling, with Haldon Forest on the doorstep. A great choice for a base to explore the region, with the beaches of south and east Devon easily accessible and a whole host of days out including Crealy or Exeter races. This idyllic location makes an excellent base for your Devon holiday break.
Exeter is a city in south Devon with a cathedral, quayside area with artisan shops and cafes, guided tours of the maze of underground passages and a wealth of bars, shops and restaurants. There are museums tracing the city’s lengthy history including a medieval building The Tucker’s Hall, built for the Company of Weavers. The gatehouse and tower of Rougemont castle still stand in the city, surrounded by Rougemont gardens with a backdrop of Roman wall ruins. Exeter’s one time importance as a port is reflected in the Custom House, now the centrepiece of the Quayside, a complex of antique shops and cafes. Within a 15 minute drive of the city is Sidmouth and Exmouth, and the start of the 95 mile stretch of Jurassic Coast.
