In just fifteen minutes’ walk you’ll find the busy harbour of this bustling town, where it is customary to watch the local fishermen land their catch. The harbour front is flanked by a selection of family run bars and bistros offering fresh fish and the finest of local produce. A short walk along the coastal path leads to a medley of pretty beaches and coves, as well as the ever-popular seawater swimming pool at Shoalstone. Take the ferry to Dartmouth, which has a good reputation for fashionable restaurants, interesting boutiques and of course, all the amusement and activity along the waterfront. Why not book a boat trip and cruise up the River Dart to Greenway, Agatha Christie’s former holiday home, and spend the afternoon in the lively market town of Totnes?
