Description
Arriving at the cottage you will find a rather good view of open fields; a vast carpet of grass, shooting off towards the sea. The interior is calm and uncluttered with a cosy atmosphere. Gather everyone together in the lounge and enjoy quality time spent over a board game, or snuggle on the sofa with a film - an old favourite goes down a treat! The dining area in the far corner is set for eight, and a second dining area rests in the kitchen, so you have the option of where to eat in the evenings, in the company of your loved ones. The bedrooms are relaxed in style with neutrally coloured walls and carpet floors. The long corridor is bordered by wood panels and picture frames, promoting simplicity. At the end of the hall you will find the kitchen is fully equipped, easing you through your stay. To the exterior, the peaceful garden offers plenty of space for the kids to play among the grasses, with seating for you to pleasantly watch on by. Our Lady's island is a popular area amoung tourists, and worth a visit during your stay. Nestled in the most south-easterly corner of Ireland, is this centre of Marian devotion and pilgrimage since at least the 6th century. It is also known as Lough Togher or the Lake of the Causeway. The lagoon nature of the lake and its proximity to the sea make it almost unique, a wonderful area of natural beauty. Places to visit include; the Church of Assumption, the coffee shop in the community centre, Tacumshane and the old Windmill, as well as walking along the traditional Pilgrimage route and the Norman way. Rosslare harbour offers wonderful views, several bars and golfing at either St Helen's Bay Resort or Rosslare Golf Club. Slightly further afield is the Irish National Heritage Park and Westgate Heritage Tower, which both offer a colourful insight into County Wexford's history. Escape to this relaxing retreat and experience a new location.
Wexford lies on Ireland's east coast, and comprises narrow winding streets, framed by a colourful quayside lined with historic buildings. St Helen's Bay Golf Course is close by, and just down the coast lies Wexford Bay; with 20 miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches. Why not take a boat trip from Wexford Quays to watch the seals on the sandbanks or spend an evening in one of the many lively pubs and restaurants? Visit Hook Lighthouse, Britain's oldest working lighthouse, which is situated at the tip of the Hook Head Peninsula, in County Wexford, and marks the entrance to Waterford Harbour.
