Description
Bring your boots, bring your coat, leave the city and leave work - this is all about getting back to your roots and filling your soul with fresh air and good old fashioned peace.Generally good mobile reception. The cottage is that classic shepherd's cottage, walls thicker than a mighty oak and ceilings low enough to remind you how much we've grown over the centuries you get the true feeling of being away from it all. Situated on the edge of the hillside and at the end of a track, you look out towards some stunning Wye Valley and English/Welsh countryside, for as far as the eye can see with nothing but sheep, the wind and bracken to keep you company. Internally this 200 year old beauty is simply furnished, nothing swanky, just simple, clean and very cosy. This cottage is astonishing for its view alone but also offers superb value for money. The owners also have another property about 100 yards away down the hill, ideal for slightly larger groups, called Llangain.
Hay-on-Wye, renowned for its world-famous Hay Festival of Literature, lies on the Welsh/English border, and is a popular destination for book-lovers or holidaymakers wishing to enjoy the leisure activities and beautiful scenery of the Wye Valley. This ancient market town lies on the River Wye in the Brecon Beacons National Park, and is renowned for its many book shops, antique shops, restaurants and cafes. Hay-on-Wye is surrounded by spectacular countryside, which provides excellent walking, cycling, bird watching, fishing and canoeing, together with a variety of tourist attractions, including the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.
