Description

Blaenau Ffestiniog town centre 1.3 miles. A delightful terraced holiday cottage on the outskirts of the village of Manod, just over a mile from Blaenau Ffestiniog, and with views from the rear garden to Manod Mawr. Step through the porch into the welcoming sitting room with its cosy woodburning stove where you can warm your toes on a cooler evening whilst enjoying its relaxing atmosphere. Towards the rear of the cottage you will find the kitchen with dining area and views onto the mountains, whilst upstairs are two bedrooms; a cosy single room and a double bedroom, again with great views. There is also a first floor family bathroom with the option of a bath or shower over the bath. Off road parking can be found at the rear of the cottage, with further parking on the road if required. Steps lead down from the parking to the garden, which is enclosed and lawned, with a patio area and table and chairs, where you can sit and soak up the summer sun and fresh mountain air. Enjoy time in this well-presented Snowdonia cottage whilst planning your trips to the numerous local attractions, which include Zipworld Titan, home to the longest zip wire in Europe, and Bounce Below, with bouncy nets stretched over disused slate caverns, Antur Stiniog Mountain Bike centre with its variety of trails, and of course the famous Ffestiniog Steam Railway to Porthmadog. There is so much on offer to keep you busy in the Snowdonia National Park you will have to come back to finish it all off. Note: This property is a few doors down from Ref. 27727, together they sleep 7.

The mountain of Manod Mawr has a long history of slate mining and some of the underground chambers were used to house National Treasures during the 2nd World War. Manod village is located in a natural bowl between the Manod and Moelwyn mountains and is well served by a number of shops and pubs, which are used to serving travellers on their way to Betws-Y-Coed, the 'Gateway to Snowdonia' and the village at the base of Mount Snowdon. Many of Manod's old slate quarries are now tourist attractions, giving fascinating insights into the work undertaken by slate miners in years gone by. The nearby Ffestioniog Railway takes passengers on stunning scenic routes through the North Wales countryside. There are many good walks and cycle trails to be found in the area and Manod's location provides easy access to other attractions such as Portmeirion - the Italian-designed village used as the setting for the cult TV-show, 'The Prisoner' and the white-water rafting opportunities provided at Bala.
