This superb shore front cottage sleeping six has superb views across Rockcliffe Bay to Rough Island, the Urr Estuary and the hills beyond.The light and spacious cottage has been recently upgraded to an excellent standard providing a fantastic family holiday base.
The popular village of Rockcliffe has a sandy beach and there are plenty of other outdoor activities close to hand including sailing at Kippford together with direct access from the cottage to the coastal path which leads to Castle Point and on round to deserted Smuggler's Coves and also the large popular beach at Sandyhills.
The attractive walk along Jubilee Path to Kippford is well worth investigating. Kippford has two pubs both serving food, and front onto the river which is a popular and busy sailing and water sports venue.
History, culture and outdoor sports are well catered for in the local area with historic sites including Threave Castle at Castle Douglas well worth visiting as you have to take a small boat across the river. Dumfries and its connection with Rabbie Burns are within easy reach including his farm Ellisland at Auldgirth. Pleasant walks and mountain bike trails are available in the Forestry Commission Woodlands at Dalbeattie and further afield Mabie, Ae and other forests provide testing mountain bike trails forming part of the 7Stanes series. River and sea fishing abound and golf courses are all close to hand with enough so that you can play a different course every day of the week, including the testing Southerness Championship Links Course.
The house is bound to please and with its outlooks it may be that you just want to sit and watch the views from the garden.
