Description
The entrance hallway leads through to a plush, L-shaped sitting room at the front of the house, where you can sink into the sofa and unwind with a hot beverage. There is a gas fire warming the room and a wall-mounted Smart TV with Freesat and a Blu-ray player. If nothing on TV takes your fancy, grab a board game off the shelf or enjoy a read of a book in a quiet corner of the house. An archway leads through to the kitchen, which is fitted with well-stocked wooden units and modern appliances including a dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area rests to the left in an alcove of the room, with a door leading out to the garden. Climb the carpeted staircase to the bedrooms, a king-size double and a twin with crisp linens and quality storage units. From the back bedroom, you can see the sea and surrounding hills. Just across the hall is the family bathroom, playing host to a walk-in shower cubicle, bath and heated towel rail, whether you want to indulge in a hot soak or grab a quick morning wash. However, if you are over six foot, just be mindful of the restricted head height in this cottage bathroom. The property is just 50 yards from the vast Girvan beach with many delightful walks within easy reach, including the popular Ayrshire Coastal Path. Cyclists are encouraged to bring their bikes along and ride across Turnberry Beach or through the Galloway Forest Park in the quiet, unspoilt countryside. There are pubs, restaurants and bars found locally and the nearest shop is just a 1 minute walk away. If you fancy a round of golf, there is the Girvan Golf Course, which combines links and parkland, whilst the world-famous golf links course is a few miles up the coast in Turnberry. Other attractions include the Stumpy Tower, originally built as a prison, as well as The McKechnie Institute in the town centre displaying some fascinating historical exhibits. Girvan harbour, the Quay Zone Leisure Centre (including swimming baths) all within walking distance. This is a lovely getaway to choose for your next trip to Scotland.
