Enjoying a sunny sheltered spot in Corlae Glen which is the head water to Water of Ken, Corlae Cottage is a short drive to the nearest village of Carsphairn which is around 9 miles away and the village of Moniaive is 14 miles where you can find some lovely places to stop for a bite to eat.
The cottage offers comfortable family holiday accommodation ensuring peace and quiet for a wonderful holiday.
The cottage is within easy reach of the Galloway Forest park and is an excellent base for walking, mountain biking, bird watching, wild flower study in this rugged wilderness area of Southern Scotland.
The local towns of Castle Douglas and Ayr are close by offering an array of independent shops, leisure facilities, cinema and opportunities for eating out. The area boasts numerous sites of historic interest such as Threave Castle and Culzean Castle together with National Trust for Scotland properties including Threave Estate in Castle Douglas, Broughton House in Kirkcudbright. The cottage is also on the Robert Burns trail, a circular driving route which runs through Southern Scotland from his birthplace in Alloway, through to Ellisland, his farm in Dumfriesshire.
