Well suited for a family or couple, this cottage makes a great base for those seeking a quiet getaway with easy access to the North Lakes. Spend your downtime in the sitting room, furnished with two sofas and a flatscreen TV, plus an gas coal effect fire which is perfect for those cold winter nights. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you could need to prepare a home-cooked feast, whilst the dining area provides the space to enjoy your meals over a well-deserved glass of wine. Upstairs there are two bedrooms; a double and a twin, which are nicely furnished with wooden furniture and served by a bathroom with bath and shower over. To the outside and the front is a lawned garden with seating where you can enjoy your morning coffee whilst contemplating how to spend the day. Opposite the property is the Punch Bowl pub which has won pub of the year for its' real ales and live entertainment. Just a short drive away is the market town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth and home to a number of interesting shops, pubs and restaurants. Whilst here you must explore the northern Lakes, providing excellent walking opportunities around Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwentwater, as well as a whole host of water sport activities. The characterful town of Keswick is also within easy reach and offers a variety of fascinating attractions, such as the Derwent Pencil Museum and Puzzling Place. A cottage to be enjoyed throughout the year.

Resting on the boundary of the Lake District, Cockermouth is an attractive market town not overwhelmed by the tourist atmosphere of Keswick and Ambleside. Today the visitors are attracted to the National Trust owned Wordsworth House, birthplace of William Wordsworth, and the historic castle which holds an annual festival. There is also a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy.
