Set in the pretty village of Stainton, near Endmoor in the Cumbrian countryside on the banks of St. Sunday’s Beck, is this charming detached 16th Century treasure, St. Sunday’s Cottage. The property has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard, whilst retaining some stunning period features such as the exposed beams, stone flag floors and stone walls. Be welcomed into the spacious sitting room which comes with plenty of seating for curling up and unwinding with the TV to provide the entertainment. Break open the bags of popcorn and indulge in an evening of Netflix and discuss plans for the days ahead whilst the woodburning stove provides that extra bit of warmth. Walk through to the kitchen where you can gather at the breakfast bar to have a lovely romantic meal with a sparkling glass of bubbly, cooked to perfection in the well-equipped kitchen with high quality Pipi Oak units. Follow the steps up to the first floor where you can retire to once the evening draws to a close and unpack your belongings into the solid Oak wardrobes and snuggle up in the deluxe king-size bed, with fresh Egyptian cotton bed linen to add to the luxury of your getaway. From the bedroom is access to an en-suite bathroom with a period style deep cast iron bath, where you can relax after a long day sightseeing and catch up on some reading. To the rear of the cottage is an enclosed patio area, ideal for dining alfresco with a G&T in-hand during the summer months, or letting your pet out to stretch its legs while you sip your morning coffee. There is a summer house with double glazed picture windows overlooking the river and countryside – a true haven for wildlife, including a family of kingfishers, dippers, goldfinches, herons, buzzards, the occasional little egret and for the sharp eyed, you may even see otters on the bank opposite! This property is within reach of the charming village of Endmoor which is home to a delightful pub/restaurant if you don't fancy cooking one evening. Whilst you're in the area, make sure you explore the surrounding area, in particular the bustling market town of Kendal where you can visit the popular tourist attractions such as the 12th Century Kendal Castle and the Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry.
