Description

Step inside the kitchen/diner, where you can enjoy meals together at the dining table, overlooking the garden, with a set of bi-fold doors that open up onto the patio area, while the newly fitted kitchen is fully-equipped with all the appliances you could ever wish for, as well as while gloss units, character beams, engineered oak flooring and a feature, exposed, white stone wall that was once a fireplace and now houses the stove. The sitting room is a delightful and cosy hub, with exposed stone wall fireplace that houses a woodburning stove to fill the room with warmth on a chilly evening, plus a choice of two plush sofas to relax onto while enjoying your favourite film or TV show. There is a wetroom-style bathroom on this floor, with a shower and heated towel rail, while upstairs you will find the family bathroom with a bath, so the choice is yours, depending on how you prefer to get ready for each day. Upstairs, you will also find three spacious and neutrally styled bedrooms, all offering wonderful, high, apex ceilings with beams, consisting of a king-size double with stunning original features and dual aspect windows, a double with a Velux window, garden views and wood panelled walls, plus a twin with a 4' double and 3' single. Outside is a large lawned garden with a patio area and furniture, ideal for making great use of the barbecue and dining alfresco, while the garage offers storage space, if you wish to bring bikes or watersports equipment. The village of Porkellis has a local pub that serves food, while a wider range of amenities can be found in Helston, five miles away. Helston acts as the gateway to the stunning Lizard Peninsula, an area of spectacular coastline, and offers a folk museum, Poldark Mine, where you can learn more about the rich mining heritage of the area, scenic strolls beside the Helford River, the National Seal Sanctuary and Flambards theme park, ideal for family fun days out. Not far from Helston is the fishing port of Porthleven, with its picturesque and historic harbour, the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall, The Loe, which has thought to have been in existence since the early 14th century, its stunning 3-mile-long sand and shingle beach which is excellent for swimming, and the National Trust's Penrose estate, surrounded by more than 1500 acres of land. The harbour town of Falmouth is a short drive away, with fantastic sandy beaches at Swanpool and Gyllyngvase, as well as the hilltop castle of Pendennis, built by King Henry VII and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, as well as excellent shopping and dining out facilities, where you can enjoy freshly caught fish and seafood. The subtropical Trebah Garden is close by, with its own private beach, while Cornwall's north coast, popular with surfers and swimmers, can also be accessed from this fantastic holiday home.

Helston is a busy and pretty market town and is a gateway to the western end of the Lizard Peninsula. Famous for its Flora Day Festival, you can enjoy days out visiting the fascinating Helston Folk Museum, Poldark Mine, one of the best underground experiences in the south west, the National Seal Sanctuary on the Helford River and Flambards theme park. Further afield is the harbour town of Falmouth to the east and Land's End to the west. Helston is a wonderful holiday destination offering plenty of attractions for the whole family.
