Melrose boasts an array of quirky shops, restaurants, friendly Inns, art galleries and the historic 12th century Melrose Abbey, Home of the world famous rugby 7s and Borders Book festival. The immediate area is perfect for walking and biking with the Southern Upland Way, Elidon hills and Glentress Forest nearby. Visit Abbotsford, home of Sir Walter Scott, or enjoy a short train journey from Tweedbank station to the city of Edinburgh.
