Description
Nestled on the hillside above the flowing River Petteril, Hawthorn Retreat sits amongst the peace and tranquillity – a perfect getaway for couples who want to escape everyday life with the additional touch of utter luxury.
Insulated with Herdwick wool and heated throughout with LPG, this wonderful little hut is a warm and cosy retreat. It has been designed with the utmost comfort, with its oak flooring and a king-size bed, complete with a Vispring mattress. There are oak fold down chairs and a table for dining, which fit perfectly under the bed when not required. The kitchen area is well equipped with an LPG gas hob and oven, fridge, all the crockery and utensils you need, as well as pots and pans. It is a great little space to cook something delicious. At the end of the hut is a well thought out shower room with a shower, wash basin, WC and chrome heated towel rail.
Through the french doors and down a few steps, leads you onto a sunny decked area. Sit back and relax with a glass of something cold as the sun goes down, or cosy up with a blanket next to the fire pit on a chilly evening. There is also a barbecue for those who prefer to cook al fresco. With the river running by just below, you will struggle to find a more idyllic spot.
Shortly there will be a heated external drying cupboard for wet coats and boots for the hut.

No hairdryers please as these can trip the fuses on the solar power system.
A torch is recommended as the gravel driveway leading to the Shepherds Hut is unlit.

Weber charcoal barbecue with complimentary locally sourced charcoal, firelighters and matches. Allocated parking space for one car at Blencowe Hall. Wagons for guest luggage are available.
