Description
The accommodation sleeps 2 comprised of an open plan kitchen dining and living area, King-sized bedroom with dressing room which could also be used as an office and a shower room with walk-in shower. There is also a large decking to the front of the lodge for outside dining and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Site Description
Mary Queen of Scots is said to have stopped to rest here while fleeing defeat at the battle of Langside and just a few miles away at Dundrennan, is where she took her last steps on Scottish soil before sailing to England. This is how Queenshill got its name.
Queenshill Lodges offer perfectly positioned, well equipped lodges built on the site of an old mansion house. The lodges sit adjacent to the beautiful walled garden which is open for guests to explore.
there are miles of paths for walking and just over the hill at Barstobrick there is a horse riding centre, coffee shop and The Galloway Faerie Trail. A map for the walks is provided in the accommodation. Guests can arrange for a breakfast hamper to be delivered to their lodge in the mornings (additional charge).
