With numerous scenic walks through woodlands and along meadows bordering the River Derwent, there’s also an archery field, river rafting and two traditional inns, all just a short stroll away. Whilst strolling, you’re bound to discover Darley Dale with its tea rooms, local shops, Peak Rail’s steam trains, historic Whitworth Park and the start of the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. Make sure you explore the nearby holiday attractions, such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Matlock Bath’s cable cars, Bakewell’s famous Puddings and market, Carsington Water or the mysterious Blue John caverns. However, you spend your days, make sure to spend one of your evenings in the cottage’s garden under the night’s sky with a glass of something special and enjoy the peace and quiet.
