Description
Leek 5.3 miles. Resting in the small village Rushton Spencer, between Leek and Macclesfield, is this detached house, Horse Shoe Cottage. Set over three floors and sleeping up to nine guests, Horse Shoe Cottage is a pet friendly and homely dwelling for your next visit to Cheshire, within easy reach of the Peak District National Park and Alton Towers. A private driveway with room for three cars rests at the side of the property, where there is also main use of the side entrance where you enter into a cloakroom, to leave any coats or shoes, before being welcomed by a bright and airy living/dining area with the choice of playing board games, nestling into the sofas to watch TV or enjoying an evening meal around the dining room table with your loved ones. Carrying on through the downstairs of the house there is a newly-fitted kitchen with everything you need to whip up your favourite meals, as well as a handy washing machine and dishwasher, a breakfast bar with seats for two, a small area for dogs beds which is certain to entice any dog walkers, and a downstairs WC with basin. Upstairs there is a fresh single room with countryside views, a stylish double room where you can relax at the end of a long day, a bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin, heated towel rail and WC, a master bedroom with a double bed and stairs up to the attic room which hosts a double and a single and makes a great space for children to be linked by a safe staircase to their parents. Outside there is a large lawn area complimented by a patio with furniture to offer an alternative dining arrangement during those warmer summer months, and there is also a private courtyard leading from the patio doors in the sitting/dining room. Rushton Spencer itself has a couple of pubs and restaurants for when you don't feel like cooking, and a short drive into either Leek or Macclesfield, leaves you with a wide selection of shops, restaurants, local parks and leisure facilities. You are also on the edge of the Peak District National Park, which is perfect for dog walks, cycles and known to be an exciting destination for rock climbing, lake swimming and caving. Some very popular, and picturesque, tourist attractions in the area are the National Trust Biddulph Grange Garden, the Three Shires Head, Chatsworth House, Buxton Opera House and Gawsworth Hall and the theme park, Alton Towers.
The hillside market town of Leek is situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The town has a charming cobbled market place, examples of fine Victorian architecture, a wide selection of shops and restaurants, a local park, leisure facilities and real ale pubs. Situated close to Three Shires Head, Chatsworth House, Buxton Opera House, Gawsworth Hall and within driving distance to Alton Towers.
