The living area is made up of an open plan kitchen/dinner, sitting area which extends out to a modern conservatory and a study. Natural light floods the sitting area through the conservatory windows, making it light and airy, this charming space has the character of a Cornish cottage with exposed Cornish stone walls and an electric wall mounted fireplace, cosy up on either of the two large sofas and enjoy the entertainment on the curved 4K television, with Netflix or read a book in one of the comfy chairs in the contemporary conservatory with its fabulous rear garden views. The study is off the sitting area and enjoys stunning sea views, take a seat at the authentic writer’s desk and let the wonderful Cornish vista inspire you as you write your post cards, this classic house has character throughout and an authentic fireplace with an ornate mirror above and artwork by Monet bring this room to life, relax in the cosy sofa and enjoy the tranquillity. The open plan kitchen diner offers a large space for the whole family to get together for meals, exposed stone walls, a classic old school writing desk and a traditional Olympia typewriter, give the space a charming character, with fabulous garden and sea views providing the final touch, a large oak dining table with matching chairs, comfortably seating eight, with the option to extend to seat 12, is ideal for entertaining and along with a wine rack and mini fridge, to chill your drinks to just the right temperature, offer the final finishing touches, the open plan country kitchen is within the dining area, ideal for socialising with the chef, it features a breakfast bar, which seats four and is well-appointed with pine units, spacious granite work tops, Rangemaster cooker and everything you need for a week’s stay, a washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in the separate utility room, off the kitchen. There is a choice of four comfortable bedrooms, all located on the first floor, the seaward facing king sized room has a private en-suite with shower, this is hidden and found by walking through the wardrobe, the kids will think they’re in Narnia, a large bay window bathes the room in natural light and showcases the spectacular sea views, the second double room enjoys garden views, through its bay window, and a further two twin rooms both enjoy access to a shared rear sun terrace, so you can enjoy breakfast in the Cornish sun, bedroom four is reached by the stairs next to the kitchen in the main hallway, this has its own private en-suite with shower, all bedrooms offer a tranquil setting to drift off to sleep and plenty of storage space. There are two family bathrooms, conveniently located next to the bedrooms on the first floor, the seaward facing one has a bath and enclosed shower, with views of Godrevy Lighthouse, through the window, to relax to while soaking amongst the bubbles, the side facing one has a bath with handheld shower attachment, an additional cloakroom with a WC is located near the back door of the property. The glorious seaward facing enclosed garden is a fabulous space to enjoy and let the children play, laid to lawn with subtropical plants and a heated breeze house, all with breath-taking sea views, it’s an oasis by the sea, a raised decked area, with a set of garden furniture with parasol and a barbeque, provides the perfect setting to dine alfresco watching the ocean, the upper rear terrace, is accessed from bedrooms three and four, laid with artificial grass, it’s a serene space to watch the sunrise, while enjoying a traditional Cornish breakfast, a private garage can be used for storage of all your surfboards and wetsuits. The footpath from your private garden leads onto the South West Coast Path, which heads towards Hayle Estuary and St Ives in the other direction, this cliffside walk has wonderful landscapes to enjoy, rare wildflowers, migratory birds or even dolphins playing in the surf, could be spotted. Before you reach St Ives on the coastal path, you’ll find the stunning secluded bay, Carbis Bay Beach, it has achieved Blue Flag status, for its crystal-clear waters which lap onto its golden sand, fabulous for walks along the shoreline and water sports, as its lifeguarded at peak times. St Ives is a hub for local artists and a hot spot for tourist, this traditional Cornish fishing village arcs around a working harbour, which supplies its many restaurants with fresh sea food, treat yourself to a delicious meal before exploring the towns cobbled streets, filled with boutiques, cafes and art galleries, the largest is The Tate and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, which celebrates one of the town’s former famous residents, after browsing and enjoying the sandy beaches which surround St Ives, hop on the scenic railway for a relaxing but breath-taking journey back to Carbis Bay, it hugs the coastline with sea views all the way. If you enjoyed the BBC TV series Poldark you’ll love exploring the locations used for filming the programme, Cornwall has many hidden coves , tin mines and historic houses to enjoy, one of the most majestic is St Michaels Mount, near Penzance, set on its own magical island, if you decide to visit Land’s End for a selfie by the iconic sign post, stop off at the nearby Minack, this open air theatre has a dramatic location, cut out of the edge of a Cornish cliff, for the kids feeding the animals at Paradise Park, in Hayle or the thrilling rides at Flambards Theme Park, near Helston, should ensure smiles all round. Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside town of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead.
