Just four miles from The Old Engine House is the famous Mothecombe Beach, as featured in Sense & Sensibility and more recently My Cousin Rachel. It provides excellent bathing areas for not just people, but also dogs and at low tide you can walk across the Erme estuary to Wonwell Beach- not forgetting the Schoolhouse, serving delicious, locally sourced food.
