From your Ampleforth cottage the village amenities are on the doorstep, including two excellent pubs serving good food, a village shop and a fish and chip shop. Enjoy a three-mile walk to the beautiful ruins of Byland Abbey or take a five-mile drive to the delightful honeypot town of Helmsley, with its elegant buildings situated around the market square. Visit Helmsley Castle and walled gardens, follow the monks' trod to Rievaulx Abbey, or discover York, Whitby and Scarborough, all a short drive from your Ampleforth cottage.
