Description
Be welcomed into the spacious open-plan living area with kitchen, dining and seating area, where you can look forward to whipping up delicious home-cooked meals for your guests in the well-equipped kitchen, with dishwasher and washing machine, as your guests uncork a bottle of wine and set the dining table. After your meal, put your feet up on the generous corner sofa and settle down to enjoy your favourite film on the TV. Enjoy a refreshing shower before catching your rest in one of three bedrooms, the first being a ground-floor double with TV, ideal for those with limited mobility. Climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find two additional double bedrooms, with character beams which hark to the property’s previous use and add a traditional feel. Pour in the bubbles and enjoy a hot soak in the bath, before joining your guests in the small front garden for your morning coffee. Set out for the day and enjoy a wander around the local village, where you will find a delightful selection of independent shops, a bakery, a well-stocked supermarket and the welcoming Fox and Hounds restaurant, perfect for when you don’t feel like spending an evening in the kitchen. Venture to the market town of Market Drayton, which has an excellent golf course set in the peaceful countryside for those who are looking to test out their clubs, close proximity to the River Tern for enjoying a scenic walk with loved ones, as well as the Damson Wood Walk where you can explore the woodland and vast fields and spot the local wildlife. Next stop is Shrewsbury, where you soak up the history of the town at the remarkable medieval Shrewsbury Abbey, wander the grounds of the impressive Shrewsbury Castle, which houses a wide variety of military memorabilia and impressive views overlooking the town from Laura’s Tower. Nearby is the Shrewsbury Prison, where you can walk the same ground as the 18th-century prisoners and tour the empty cells and yard. Further afield is the charming Roman town of Chester, with its famous zoo, glorious cathedral and historic walls which surround the city, perfect for a fun-filled family day out. Dairy Cottage is an ideal retreat to the Shropshire countryside which offers something for everyone.
Nestled between the well-known towns of Shrewsbury and Market Drayton, is the bustling village of Shawbury, which is home to a well-stocked convenience store, a bakery, a church and a selection of welcoming pubs and independent shops. If you can tear yourself away from Shawbury, the medieval town of Shrewsbury is just a short drive away, with over 600 listed buildings and a good selection of amenities.
