Golconda is the original farm house, set alongside two other barn conversions in its own secret valley surrounded by lovely countryside. Refurbished with designer décor and furniture, it just oozes quality. With a lovely lounge with glowing log burner, really well equipped dining kitchen, two king-size bedrooms each with en-suite shower rooms with walk in showers and W.C.'s this is just a superb holiday retreat. Historic Wirksworth with its leadmining origins is just over the hill with its heritage railway and heritage trail, Northern Lights little cinema, range of friendly pubs and a brilliant restaurant. Or alternatively walk along to Brassington village with its two great pubs - the Miners Arms or Ye Olde Gate Inn. The Olde Gate has been voted one of the cosiest pubs in the country. Majestic Chatsworth House and historic Haddon Hall are just up the Derwent Valley, or pass through Bakewell, famous for its 'Puddings' and explore the real Peaks, with glorious views, sparkling rivers and beautiful villages.
