Within the village are a popular cafe and restaurant, both of which overlook the delightful harbour, a short walk along the coastal path finds an array of beautiful sandy coves and beaches, perfect for a stroll or family day on the beach. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, with a fantastic links golf course only five minutes' away in Morfa Bychan, beautiful sandy beaches, and Porthmadog with its harbour and three steam railways can be reached by driving or along the coastal walk path. A short drive away is the superb Italianate village and gardens of Portmeirion, which is well worth a visit. Further afield, all the attractions within and around the Snowdonia National Park are easily reached, including many CADW heritage sites and historic castles; for the more adventurous there is Zip World Titan with its zip wires and the mountain biking centre at Coed-Y-Brenin. The thriving harbour town of Porthmadog rests by the Glaslyn Estuary and is the gateway to the Snowdonia National Path, along with the Welsh coast. The town is home to a selection of easygoing eateries, including the Australia, along with a wealth of independent and convenience stores, so guests' needs are fully covered here! After exploring the Maritime Museum, visitors can board the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway to navigate the wider area, or venture to the local nature reserve for a day of outdoor activities.
