Set in the beautiful countryside of County Durham, approximately ten miles to the west of the historic City of Durham, is the village of Iveston. The village took its name from Ive’s Stone- the stone on which St Ivo is said to have preached to Roman soldiers. Today, the Roman connection is reflected in the many Northumbrian tourist attractions along Hadrian’s Wall.
