Description
Entry through a pretty, whitewashed porch where walking boots and welly boots can kicked off. Once inside, the informal dining room, centrally positioned is the perfect place to gather for special times together. The restful sitting room decorated in soft neutral hues is an invitation to unwind, and curl up on pale squashy sofas, with the glows of a wood burning stove adding further warmth to chilly autumnal evenings. Enjoy favourite shows and films on the wall mounted TV with Blue Ray and Roku device whilst teens and children can escape to the snug room next door, equipped with TV and Playstation 4. More recently extended, the kitchen is a place to enjoy coffee and breakfast in the morning sunshine that streams through patio doors. Prepare warming meals in the Aga after long walks on the moor, there is a further electric oven in the useful utility room with a cloakroom to the side. Upstairs four tasteful bedrooms, each dressed in crisp white linen are individually and styled to reflect the ever-changing colours of the moorland. A spacious master bedroom with king-size bed, benefits from an en-suite shower room. The sunny, whitewashed twin with accents of yellow and grey provide the option of a super-king bed if pushed together and heather and greens are the theme for the pretty, dual aspect double room with views to the garden and the countryside beyond. The delightful single room decorated in ‘old white’ looks out over the garden to the rear and these bedrooms are served by a family bathroom with bath and shower over. To the rear step into a heavenly scented courtyard garden planted with colourful shrubs and pots. A summerhouse adorned with fairy lights offers a shady spot from summer sunshine and shelter if the weather is less than perfect. To the rear an expanse of lawn garden provides a further patio with seating, a hammock to snooze and a timber clad inflatable 4 person hot tub. Don your walking boots with footpaths leading from your doorstep right onto the moor. Enjoy the 11 miles of traffic-free route The Granite Way that stretches from Okehampton to Lydford winding through some of the most stunning Dartmoor countryside and moorland. Rest and enjoy lunch in one of the many great pubs in the location, the closest being the Peter Tavy Inn a 15 minute walk. For family day’s out visit Buckland Abbey, Lydford Gorge, Castle Drogo and Dartmoor Zoo, and further afield the Eden Project and the sandy beaches of the north or south coast are only an hour or so away by car. Four miles away the market town of Tavistock boasts an award-winning bi-weekly farmers market, as well as the vast selection of independent shops, restaurants and cafés to enjoy.
