In a beautiful rural setting amidst rolling countryside, in the picturesque Vale of York, this spacious Georgian cottage is approached along a half mile farm track and is situated on the owner’s working arable and livestock farm, adjacent to the farmhouse. This welcoming cottage, with polished wood floorboards in the lounge and dining room, is tastefully furnished to offer very comfortable accommodation, and the farm hens provide a treat of fresh eggs on arrival! Located on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, three and a half miles drive from Castle Howard and with pleasant open countryside views towards both the Howardian Hills and the Wolds, walkers can enjoy country walks with footpaths from the door. The historic city of York, 12 miles, is easily accessible and appeals to all ages with its wealth of world renowned attractions including the magnificent minster, the castle and railway museum, The Jorvik Centre and the Chocolate Story. There are art galleries and theatres, quirky shops along the cobbled streets and numerous inns serving real ale. Castle Howard hosts an interesting programme of events and has a lovely restaurant and farm shop. Visit the abbey ruins at Kirkham Priory and Rievaulx, and the National Trust properties at Nunnington and Beningbrough. Families can enjoy a trip to Flamingo Land and Go Ape in Dalby Forest and the North Yorkshire moors and the coast, with the towns of Pickering, Scarborough and Whitby all within an easy drive.
